Teachers Profile: Brigid
I originally trained in dance, and from a very young age this was a great passion - I just loved movement and the inspiration I felt from expression and exploration of the potential for self development through the body. This interest in movement of the body and the effect on mind and well being - has been like a thread running through my life - leading me in many directions- and then into an intense period of Yoga study. Once I discovered Yoga and experienced the benefits of the practice in helping with gaining more peace of mind - I was totally motivated to find out more and pass on the benefits to others.

I have studied Sivananda style yoga in India - spending several months in the Ashram.

I also completed a 3 year British Wheel of Yoga training in London with Swami Dayamurti an inspirational teacher whose roots are in the Satyananda tradition.

Most recently I committed my practice to studying the Ashtanga Vinyasa method of Yoga as in the tradition of Sri K. Patthabbi Jois. I have completed the 240 hour teacher training with John and Lucy Scott in New Zealand. I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to study with John and Lucy who are direct students of Patthabbi Jois the Guru of this method of Yoga.

I am now dedicating my time to teaching small groups and individuals the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Method. In this way I am promoting and continuing to pass on the teachings I have received through this very special and unique lineage.
